Robin AI is an exciting, venture-backed technology startup whose mission is to dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of legal advice. Backed by top London based VCs, Forward Partners and Episode 1, Robin uses a combination of human and artificial intelligence to review and edit contracts and is building software to fundamentally change the legal industry forever.

Robin was established in March 2019 by CEO Richard Robinson (a former City lawyer) and CTO James Clough (a theoretical physicist who works in Machine Learning). They have since assembled a talented and diverse team of legal, software and machine learning engineers to build the next generation of contracting tools.

Having raised a $2.5m Seed round in April, from some of Europe's top investors, we are looking to accelerate our growth and development by adding talented legal minds to our growing team. Over the next 2 years, we expect to triple the size of the company, continue to invest in our transformational technology, and keep delighting our customers.

The Role

We’re looking for talented paralegals who want to practice law differently. We understand that who you are personally matters just as much as who you are professionally. Providing an inclusive work environment is a core part of who we are as a business, so we’re looking for people who may have found that the traditional working styles of private practice or in-house practice didn’t quite work for them. We’re looking for someone who is both technical and commercial, both in the practice of law and outside of it. You will fully embrace working flexibly and remotely. You’ll be interested in tech, but don’t need to be any good with it (we can teach you that!) and you’ll be extremely comfortable reviewing classic corporate contracts like NDAs, Supplier Agreements, Master Services Agreements etc. Finally, we are very committed to building a diverse team across multiple dimensions. We feel this is fundamental to our culture and actively look for people who share this passion. Providing an inclusive work environment is a core part of who we are as a business, so we’re looking for people who are interested in alternatives beyond the traditional.

Your Skills

You’ll be extremely comfortable marking up corporate contracts to a detailed playbook, and ideally you will have spent at least 2 years doing that in private practiceor for an in-house team. You’ll have experience working for private equity clients or financial institutions and you’ll have a pretty good grasp of financial jargon and a strong sense of commercial awareness.
