Robin AI is an exciting, venture-backed technology startup whose mission is to dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of legal advice. Backed by top London based VCs, Forward Partners and Episode 1, Robin uses a combination of human and artificial intelligence to review and edit contracts and is building software to fundamentally change the legal industry forever.
Robin was established in March 2019 by CEO Richard Robinson (a former City lawyer) and CTO James Clough (a theoretical physicist who works in Machine Learning). They have since assembled a talented and diverse team of legal, software and machine learning engineers to build the next generation of contracting tools.
At Robin AI, we create groundbreaking products that are transforming legal teams. Our work is multi-disciplinary and brings together the best talent in engineering, AI and the law. Our current product uses neural networks to read and comprehend written contracts, assesses whether they adhere to our customers’ preferred positions, and then automatically amends them. But our ambitions go way beyond reviewing contracts – we want to build technology that changes the way companies all over the world do deals.
To do that, we need to build. Specifically, we want to build a new, structured way for businesses to make and agree contracts by replacing the outdated Microsoft Word workflow with a browser-based, visual contract building application that will empower anyone to create a world class contract without a lawyer. Just like Figma has democratised design tools, and WebFlow has democratised website development, we want to give business owners, HR teams, procurement teams and in-house lawyers all over the world the ability to create and negotiate any business contract by combining legal, design, software and machine learning expertise.
How do we hire ?
We aim to keep things simple with our hiring process. There are two stages:
1. Informal chat and technical screening
We will setup a call for you to have a chance to speak to our lead frontend engineer to find out a little more about Robin, our technology and culture. We will also be interested to find out a little about yourself, your experience and your aspirations.
2. Technical and cultural interview
We will setup an interview to explore your technical skills and cultural fit. The technical task involves building an application to solve a problem representative of those that we solve at Robin AI. After the technical task we will follow up with some general technical and cultural questions to learn more about you. This is also an opportunity for you to ask as many questions as you’d like.
We are deliberate about the culture we are building, and are committed to creating an inclusive environment that attracts the best talent from diverse backgrounds. Whether it’s helping curate the Robin Spotify playlist, discussing gender equality in tech, or taking a meditation break with our holistic health plan, we want you to find your space within the Robin community.
From our offices in Devonshire Square, you’ll have access to all of the WeWork amenities including co-working space, bike lockers, pool tables, table tennis, free barista-made coffee and free beer in the evenings.
We want to break diversity, inclusion and equality barriers within the tech industry. In building our team, we welcome the unique contributions that you can bring, and welcome applications regardless of ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, education, opinions, nation of origin, languages spoken, age, pregnancy and maternity, or veteran’s status.
